The Glory of Christ, The God-Man

Nov 04, 2016

We read in Hebrews 10:12, “But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God”.
From this verse, we get a glimpse at the complex person of Jesus Christ, for Christ as God ALWAYS was on His Father’s throne. He always was God! And even when He was on earth, He was still in heaven.
The Son of God did not cease to be omnipotent and omnipresent when He came in the likeness of sinful flesh. As He said in John 3:13, “No man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of man, WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.”
But the Lord Jesus Christ, AS THE GOD-MAN, has assumed glories and honors which once He had not, for AS MAN He did not at one time sit on His Father’s throne. He became a man, a suffering man, a man full of pains and sorrows, more than man has ever known. But now, as God-man, He has assumed a dignity next to God. He sits at the right hand of God.
The man, Christ Jesus, is exalted at the right hand of the majesty on high, and His elect are in Him, crucified with Him, risen with Him—for “God hath raised us up together and made us SIT TOGETHER IN HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 2:6).
There is no honor, there is no dignity, and there is no glory to be compared to that of Jesus Christ and His eternal bride, the body of believers. As we read in John 17:22, “The glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them.”
