Family Radio is excited to welcome Steve Hiller as our new afternoon host! Steve has a deep passion for proclaiming God’s Word. Combine that passion with years of experience in Christian radio, Steve is a natural fit for the ministry. We know that you will be greatly blessed by his engaging presence and commitment to biblical truth. We’re so excited to introduce him as we continue bringing Family Radio listeners like you encouragement and Gospel-centered hope each afternoon.
Doug Hannah, Family Radio’s Director of Programming, shared his enthusiasm for Steve’s arrival:
“At Family Radio, we are committed to building a team of Gospel proclaimers—people who are passionate about sharing the truth of God’s Word. Steve brings a deep love for Scripture, a heart for ministry, and a voice that connects with people in a meaningful way. He will be a key part of our mission to fill the airwaves with the truth of God’s Word. We’re so excited for listeners to get to know him and be encouraged by his presence each afternoon.”
Steve Hiller is the Director of Products at Open the Bible and plays a key role as co-host and producer of its radio programs. He also co-hosts Encounter the Truth with Jonathan Griffiths and Treasured Truth with Pastor James Ford Jr., and serves as the announcer for Mission 66, produced by Trans World Radio. When he’s not behind the mic, Steve enjoys life in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife, Suzy, and their three children.
Steve comments:
“I’m thrilled to be joining Family Radio and to take part in their mission of sharing the Gospel and the Word of God. It’s an incredible privilege to be part of this team, and I couldn’t be more excited.
When I met with the leadership of Family Radio and heard their deep passion for proclaiming God’s Word through radio, I knew right away that it would be an honor to be part of it. I’m grateful that the Lord has led me to this opportunity!
Romans 10:17 says, ‘So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.’ What an incredible privilege it is to be involved in proclaiming God’s Word and to witness how He uses it to bring people to faith and strengthen those who already know Him.
A passage that has been on my heart lately is 2 Corinthians 5:16-21, especially verse 17: ”…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” What a powerful truth! In Christ, we are made new, and we are called to be His ambassadors—part of the ministry of reconciliation. Being able to share this truth through Family Radio is an incredible honor.“
Steve begins afternoons on Family Radio on March 17, 2025.
Welcome, Steve! I have enjoyed your first afternoon here. When I first heard you on Open the Bible your voice, manner and professionalism reminded me of two of my all-time favorite announcers, Wayne Shepherd of Moody Radio, and your predecessor in the afternoon, Doug Hanna. So I’m happy I’ll be hearing more from you.
Your comments this afternoon about not feeling God’s love connected powerfully with me. I know from Scripture that God loves me, it is a theological truth I embrace. I embrace the scriptures you reminded us of. But my approach to my faith tends to be head heavy, heart light, if I can put it that way. But just having the dilemma acknowledged helps somehow. I look forward to how you will minister to our hearts on Family Radio.
Enjoying today as well as every time I listen…. Thank you for playing new music, what a refreshing change!!
So happy to have Steve on board at Family Radio!
